Construction Advisory: Enhancements to DFW’s Terminal D Lobby Means International Travelers Should Plan Ahead

News Image Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) has kicked off a project that will upgrade the checked baggage equipment in the Terminal D south lobby. As a result, some of the airline check-in counters near the D18 security checkpoint will temporarily relocate. Customers flying on an international airline out of Terminal D will check their bag with their airline before being directed by airline staff to the bag drop-off area near the center of the lobby to complete the check-in process.

To ensure a smooth check-in experience, customers flying internationally out of Terminal D should plan on arriving to DFW Airport at least three hours early. While the ticket counters at D18 will still be open, many airlines will have a temporary counter within the same area. Following baggage drop-off, customers can proceed through the TSA checkpoint as usual. Passengers flying on American Airlines out of Terminal D should consider using the D30 entrance and check-in area.

The project is expected to be completed by spring 2024. Customers should check with their airline for any additional instructions and ensure they meet the correct baggage requirements by their airline.
